After owning this vacation home for a number of years, this repeat client decided it would be far more fun to have additional room for their growing family and friends.  Our design goal was to create a master suite with a private bathroom and storage, improve the children’s guest area, give them an upper floor partial bath, and create a large play area.  An additional goal was to provide additional access to the backyard from a deck through the master suite.  Our client also asked that we retain the old funky look of the home.  We accomplished this with a minor increase to the footprint, affording us the opportunity to increase the upper floor and create a defined bedroom for up to four kids. 

Working with a local contractor, we were able to complete the work in five months, completing it in time for their annual August vacation retreat. By rebuilding the existing single bath, adding a bath and a half, and improving the two major sleeping areas, the home can now accommodate up to three couples, plus four to eight kids, comfortably.
